Some skating action was happening at Toddy Pond this past weekend. I borrowed my sister's skates but they didn't work out for me - too big even stuffed with extra socks. I was so afraid I would trip over them and hurt myself so I really couldn't skate like I intended. It was a great skating day for Dave, Dan and Twila. They skated along the shore mostly - back and forth - back and forth! We did visit with one of the neighbors Pat who was putting in a couple ice fishing traps. That was the only other sign of activity. Most of Toddy Pond was frozen and you could clearly see where it wasn't.
Checking the depth of the ice
No skating past the chisel!!
Back and Forth
Come On, let's say we do it again.

Looks like a nice day but cold.... You guys were brave. I don't go on the ice until it is two feet thick. hah I used to love to skate. We would go down to Swetts and Dad would build a fire and we would skate 'till our feet hurt. Now I'm too afraid of falling and breaking something. Love, Patty
