The Fishing Trip

Just thought I'd post David and Dylan's fishing trip. Dylan informs me the morning didn't start off to great. They left the house @ 4:30 am and headed out with the jeep and a borrowed trailer hooked up towing the wheeler. Well they made it as far as the intersection of Johnson Mill and Dow when the tire on the trailer blew! They were not inpressed. Needless to say - no tools or spare tire was on hand. Dylan unloaded the wheeler from the trailer and Dave drove the jeep back with the misfit trailer and Dylan on the wheeler back home. Reloaded into the Tundra and off they went! They arrived at their destination - ha ha - unloaded and headed up the lake for about 2 1/2 miles realizing that they were on the wrong lake!!!Scereny was not looking familiar! No Joke Dylan was really upset by this time - They drove back 2 1/2 miles in the 9 degree weather and reloaded and finally arrived at the right boat landing. So the first trap went into the ice at 9:00 am. Good thing they caught some fish otherwise the day would have been really bad! The good thing is not a bad catch for 4 hours of fishing :) Dylan was finally happy!

Our Getaway

Our Getaway was successful. We headed out around noon and over the new Fort Knox bridge and ended up in Campden for some sidewalk shopping (should have bought that vest with the fur collar)and just poked around until we could step foot into Cody's Tavern in Rockport at 3:30. Cody's is only open late afternoon until evening. We were considered the early birds. Well I'll tell you what - I've never seen a restaurant fill up as quickly as this place did. I think the whole place upstairs and down and bar area was full within a half hour - no joke. The food was good and the atmosphere was busy and plenty to take a look at(old signs and license plates and old rescue tobaggans/sleds - etc. We were really really full when we left- so needless to say no dinner was needed that night. Cody's slogan is "Just Plain Good Food" and it was!! We planned on taking our first adventure picture in the foyer of the restaurant on the old fashioned stools but the foyer was so packed with people waiting it was pointless so we took pictures outside for our adventure journal. We also stopped at one of Tony's worksites where he is putting in a concrete foundation. You should see this spot - overlooking the water - multi-multi million dollar when completed. So we had a great time with our friends and did alot of stomach aching laughing - Tony received the prize of the t-shirt because he was the planner of this trip! Now it is up to David or myself to come up with the next destination - so we will see!

Friends Outing/Getaway

This weekend will be the first of our Friends Outing. We (The Dinardos and Betts) agreed once a month one of us would come up with a new place to explore. Tony was the first to suggest, so tommorrow we head towards Rockport. I will post our day with you. I'm sure we'll enjoy it no matter where we may end up. Like one of my sisters always says - just make it an adventure. So that we will do.

Picture from the Past

I've always liked this picture so I thought I'd share it with you - Some of you may know who this is - any guesses?

100th post

Well I can't believe this is my 100th post. I'm trailing behind you Katie! I suppose I should put a picture up right! This is what the men in the house did last night. I think Dylan would have been the winner until I stopped it.

A visit from Kenzie Murray

What a beautiful little girl. It's always so fun to visit with Kenzie and her mom when they get out for a quick walk. Kenzie is always so happy when we see her. She even remembers your name. That surprises me because she hasn't seen us very often but she remembers!
