A Few Laughs

Christmas afternoon at my mom's. It was great to see the Walton guys and of course have most of the family all together. Josh and Joe - Mark and Kim - and Jen didn't make it this year. Kevin is here from Ellsworth and his brother Keith is here from Washington. It appears Dan and Dylan enjoyed their company as well.
and of course the quick remote family picture
oh yes - pick on Twila time.

Santa's Workshop

I must share this with you all. The workshop in my basement with Reindeer! Yes reindeer.
Daniel and Twila and Dylan constructed reindeer in my basement. They appeared one afternoon and they were busy cutting, shaving and drilling and painting with this project for hours into the evening. I would sit in my seat in the basement wiring up my cones for my wreaths because my work table was taken over by this production of reindeer and I would look to my right and all you could see is reindeer and antlers. It was so funny. This will be a day to remember. Who knows what next year will bring.

Nothing but antlers.

That evening these reindeer were loaded into dan's truck for a ride through Orrington, Brewer and Bangor over to the apartment. It must have been quite a site for those other vehicles passing by. I can image what these people were thinking when they would pull up beside dans truck or sitting at a stop light. I think this is the Christmas Spirit!

Balsam Wreath

This is just one of the many wreaths I've assembled. This one is 24" and once hand tied it measures about 28". Next will come my spotlight shining on it and my cardinal ribbon. It will look so nice.

Birthday Boy on November 28th

I can't believe I didn't post Daniel's Birthday! I guess I've been really busy with wreaths and not much time to sit and blog. So while I was wreathing I began to think of this and came upstairs and put myself in the blog mode for a minute. We did have a wonderful birthday with Daniel. He invited Dave and I for drinks and apps at Longhorns with all of his good friends. There was 10 of us in all. Longhorns is a new place in Bangor - about a month new - we had a good time. Daniel also celebrates his birthday with his best buddy Adam which happens to be the same day along with his twin. Good bunch of friends. I did not bring my camera this evening so I came up with this picture! Happy Birthday Daniel. Love you -
This picture in NICU - 4lbs. 3ozs.

Let the Wreaths Begin!

What a wonderful time I had yesterday with two of my favorites young ladies. Dan and Twila came for the afternoon. While Dan was out hunting Twila and I assembled some wreaths. She was my bundler which was a huge quick help. Thank you Twila! Twila's cousin - Lynette also came to visit and she assembled her very first wreath for herself.

Oldies but Goodies

Ran across these pics today -

Visitors

We had a wonderful visit with Amy and girls. Kelsie is getting bigger by the day. She is such a good little girl. Kelsie enjoys smiling and making noises come from her mouth. Cute. Her big sister McKenzie was busy talking Fairies with Twila and looking through the Toy's are Us catalog. Twila is familiar with this stuff thank goodness :)

And This One is for Derek

While talking with Derek tonight - he gave me CRAP for not posting today!!! So while I was sitting in my computer room I happen to think about a part of our conversation and this picture was in a pile next to the computer and I thought it would be appropriate to post. So that's why I say this one's for you Derek. Taken 1998 - when toddy pond was moved back away from the water to it's new ground!

She's Really Very Nice

Took these pictures of Carly while she was sitting outside in my windowbox!

Gathering with Friends

We had our annual pumpkin carving day and evening celebration. Cheryl and I went to pick a couple more bags of apples and met the guys back at the house to start the carving of the pumpkins. We decided to do this inside because it was kind of chilly outside! The guys cheated by using a jigsaw. Geez
He thinks he's funny! Old Walter weighed in at 64 pounds - 30 lbs shy of last year! (He's the one with the crow)

A Walk for Bittersweet

Yesterday - Dave and I went for a hike to gather some Bittersweet. We had gone here before but it was too early to cut. I did take a branch home on this first hike and realized that you could cut it early and it would open a couple days later. So anyways - we went again and cut and cut and cut. Cutting Bittersweet is kind of tricky because they are just to jumbled and intertwined with each other. It was a nice day out - sun was shining. We threw our branches in the back of the truck and headed for home. Now I have some wreaths and decorating to do!!!

Charlotte's Web Buttoned Up

Last weekend Dave & I and Gib and Charlotte headed for Toddy Pond to button up Charlotte's Web for another season. It was rather sad but beautiful as well in the fall - but a necessary chore to be done. All the chairs and grills were gathered and put away and all the beds were stripped of their comforters and blankets -kayaks and other water crafts put away. Most importantly the porch was winterized with plastic. I think it was the couple weekends before Daniel and David hauled up the dock and stairs. They said the water wasn't really bad at all! Huh! I think Gramps boat ramp appeared to be the heaviest - probably because it was so waterlogged with all the rain we've had lately and the lake had been really high. Twice we've had to raise the dock. While we were there - Charlotte and I looked across the lake and really didn't notice much color at all. Some areas were mostly pine and cedar. We didn't see any of the adult loons and so we figured they had left the lake. They will be back next year and we all will look forward to watching them again.
