Mission Accomplished

I would like to explain the shot of the lighthouse - Dyce's Head in my photography blog because it really has no revelation to birds like I usually post. To make a long story short - my niece has a picture of Dyce's Head sitting on the window sill in the kitchen. When visiting with her one day I immediately noticed that the picture had been damaged by water but she would still display it because it holds special meaning to her and her husband. So her birthday arrived this month and I thought it would be a wonderful gift to be able to replace that damaged picture she looks at every morning with a new one. So one cold day I decided to take "the ride" to Castine and take as many shots of that lighthouse as I could just to be sure I would get that perfect shot. We went to visit with my niece and presented her with my gift and it happened. Just what I was hoping for. She "teared up". I was so glad I was able to do this for her.

Every Afternoon

Lately every afternoon I see this beautiful sunset. It will appear through the woods then clearly through my window. I think Blue Jays are very pretty but they are always fighting with each other. I threw out an old biscuit and this is what happened. The winner of the biscuit flew off with the whole thing in its beak.

Some Skating Action

Some skating action was happening at Toddy Pond this past weekend. I borrowed my sister's skates but they didn't work out for me - too big even stuffed with extra socks. I was so afraid I would trip over them and hurt myself so I really couldn't skate like I intended. It was a great skating day for Dave, Dan and Twila. They skated along the shore mostly - back and forth - back and forth! We did visit with one of the neighbors Pat who was putting in a couple ice fishing traps. That was the only other sign of activity. Most of Toddy Pond was frozen and you could clearly see where it wasn't.

No skating past the chisel!!

Come On, let's say we do it again.
