What's In Your Backyard?

While working on my computer today I occasionally look out the back room window and I noticed a couple of deer eating the cedar tree and my rhododendron bush. They ate for quite awhile. They were so pretty with the snow falling. I'm sure they will be back another day.

What is This You Ask?

At Christmas I was given an Amaryllis bulb. I planted it and waited and waited
for something to happen. Almost 2 months later a bloom is appearing. It is about 20 inches tall so far. I look forward to see the actual flower.

Friends Trip for February

Well another friends trip was upon us and it was a warm weekend so we decided we would head to Camden to witness the famous Toboggan Chute Championships. It is advertised every year - and we've missed it each year so we headed down today. It is a weekend ordeal with about 900 teams competing. Some as far away as Florida and Rhode Island. We drove into Camden and took the shuttle bus which happen to be a big yellow school bus to the mountain also know as the Snow Bowl. Our driver was a friendly guy named Bob. I'll only share of few of the shots I was able to capture - I took plenty of course. After watching the toboggans come down the chute and just watching all the people - some in costumes and some warming up in their makeshift tents and ice houses we decided that we'd seen enough and was a little disappointed it wasn't as big of an event as advertised and of what we had anticipated but we had a good time all and all.
On the way home of course we stopped into our favorite place Cody's Restaurant & Pub for a drink and appetizer and to mull the day over. It was another wonderful friends trip. Now we can say we've been!

My visit at the Betts Home

Male Cardinal
The female is with him here.
Mourning Doves
While visiting with Gib and Charlotte I always - well most of the time - bring my camera. I've been told there is a woodpecker that comes most every day and he is unusual because he is a little bit different in color and size than an ordinary woodpecker. I can't think of his name at the moment but will post his name and picture when I catch him. Well - he finally showed up today but was easily scared away. I think he saw me in the window. I will again try to capture his picture.

Thanks

This is my loving family - well part of it. What a wonderful day I had. Dan was my personal chef for the evening (excellent) with his loving assistant Twila. It was great that Dylan was able to spend time with us as well - of course Dave was the dishwasher and as for me I did absolutely nothing except enjoy my family and have a few laughs and isn't that what it's all about! I love you guys!
