Toddy Clean-up

This weekend we headed to Toddy Pond for our annual spring clean-up. It was a beautiful day on the pond. There was a few boats that went cruising by and the sound of the loon was heard. What a good job we all did. Dan/Twila/ sister Alana - Tony/Cheryl/ daughter Jessie and of course Dave and myself raked and raked and dragged and hauled off the leaves, sticks and limps. We would take our occasional breaks by shouting "break" and no one would hesitate then we would head right back at it. We pretty much had a tail-gate snack bar. We later fired up the grill and threw on the first steak/ribs and had dinner inside. We loaded up our rakes and wheelbarrows and gear and headed for home. We were going to stop at the ice cream store but we figured it would probably have a line down the sidewalk of people waiting being a Saturday warm evening. We were wrong. There wasn't a person there. We figured they must have all been at the circus which was in town that weekend. So we enjoyed our ice creams while listening to the Red Sox game with the Dinardo's. It was a really productive day thanks to all our helpers. You made the clean-up much more enjoyable. Dave and I thank you. I almost forgot to mention that we almost had the raking part all done before Gram and Gramps pulled in. So when they got out of their car - we all yelled "surprise". I know that they were just delighted to have the crew at camp and taking care of what needed some attention. The Crew

Fresh Mussels Today

Dave and I took a ride to the cape and picked some mussels today. Of course we picked way too many so we gave away to family and friends like we always do. We cooked some up for supper tonight and the neighbors (Vachon's) came up to try mussels for the first time. It was a big hit. Just the scenery while we were picking. Summer cottage on the little island. This sign was posted but we had permission! You might think Yuck but very good - very sweet.

A Day at the Farm

Just of few of the sightings that caught my eye at the Bullock's farm on Saturday. It was a beautiful day.

They're Back

Yesterday I heard a commotion in the trees so I looked up and there they were - it was really noisy - a nice noise. Sure enough it was my favorite all birds - Cedar Waxwings. They were eating the buds off the tree. I didn't have my bigger lens on so I settled for this shot. This shot gives you a better look at them all. As if I don't have any pictures of Cedar waxwings. I look forward to seeing and hearing them again.

Birthday Guy

We celebrated a birthday for Dylan yesterday the 20th. He is officially a young adult - the teenager years are gone!!!!! The five of us -(Dill-Dan-Twila-Dave-I) decided to go out for dinner and back to the house for cake. It was great to spend a special day with our young adults. Everyone is growing up so fast and Dave and I are very proud of them all and their accomplishments. :)
I must share this special gift that his gram painted for him. Very special indeed.

Birthday Wishes

My good friend Cheryl celebrated another birthday late March. Of course we celebrated it with her. We took a ride to Cheryl's father-in-laws and had a nice dinner and drinks and the cake I picked up along our route. The card games began before dinner when we arrived and "Again" after we had birthday dessert. I won :) Walked away with about $10.00 - Yahoo - I haven't won playing cards in a long time! Best part of the evening was all the laughing and joking around we do - we left with sore cheeks. Another good time.
Cheryl and Tony's dad - Wonder what she is going to wish?
