Charlotte's Web Buttoned Up

Last weekend Dave & I and Gib and Charlotte headed for Toddy Pond to button up Charlotte's Web for another season. It was rather sad but beautiful as well in the fall - but a necessary chore to be done. All the chairs and grills were gathered and put away and all the beds were stripped of their comforters and blankets -kayaks and other water crafts put away. Most importantly the porch was winterized with plastic. I think it was the couple weekends before Daniel and David hauled up the dock and stairs. They said the water wasn't really bad at all! Huh! I think Gramps boat ramp appeared to be the heaviest - probably because it was so waterlogged with all the rain we've had lately and the lake had been really high. Twice we've had to raise the dock. While we were there - Charlotte and I looked across the lake and really didn't notice much color at all. Some areas were mostly pine and cedar. We didn't see any of the adult loons and so we figured they had left the lake. They will be back next year and we all will look forward to watching them again.

I cry every time I look at your Blogs and Pictures. I am so homesick. I missed another year with you all. Thank you for doing such a great job with this. Kiss everyone for me.

Looks like it was a nice fall day for doing all this hard work though. The water does look cold. Great Job. Love, Patty
