It was fun trying to capture these birds feeding. European Starling. The Starling is native to Europe. In 1890, a flock of 100 of these birds were released in New York's Central Park; since that time, this aggressive species has expanded its range to include most of the continent.
The Cardinal has a very cheerful song and brilliant red plumage. This species is a seed-eater; its sharp edged conical bill is perfectly suited to cracking open nuts to get at the kernel within. He visits every day on schedule!
This Downy Woodpecker is fond of visiting suet feeders. Comparatively tame, they are seen widely in residential areas and city parks. You will hear them when you hear their loud desending rattle. They drum their bills against bark producing a fast series of percussive noises! You can view him best if you zoom in on this picture I photographed.
